CHAI MoDERN Benefit Sale

Sponsored by CHAI MoDERN’s Annual Grant for Artists—with proceeds supporting established and emerging artists who challenge perceptions of identity and global boundaries—the CHAI MoDERN Benefit sale is composed of works from Varial and Nadjari’s art-documentary project, The Wakhan Journey.

Last year, Varial and Nadjari embarked on a journey across the mountainous passage between Afghanistan and China known as the Wakhan Corridor, traveling more than 300 kilometers on foot. The Wakhan Project is the photographers’ homage to this remote corridor, its cultures, and inhabitants.

Running in conjunction with this sale is an exhibition of over 40 photographs by Varial and Nadjari at MILK Gallery in New York.
