    Constable’s The Lock At Christie’s

Baroness Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza is selling John Constable’s The Lock, one of the prized exhibits in her collection, because of liquidity problems due to Spain’s economic crisis.

Estimated to go for US$31,416,902–US$39,271,127, the piece is expected to become one of the most expensive British paintings ever sold when it goes under the hammer at Christie’s London on Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
