Meet The Kabakovs
Ilya and Emilia Kabakov are American artists, born in USSR, that collaborate to fuse elements of the everyday with those of the conceptual. Their work is deeply rooted in the Soviet social and cultural context in which they grew up, but it still attains a universal significance. The artists work with ideas of Utopia, emptiness, and escapism, creating images that are full of references and deeply rooted in art history.
If you’re in Italy over the Summer, don’t miss their show, The Happiest Man, at Hangar Bicocca.
