Airbrushed Pigeons in Venice
Some pigeons are more equal than others, a controversial project by artists Julian Charrière and Julius von Bismarck, involves the airburshing of some of the famous pigeons of St. Marks Square. These pigeons end up sporting feathers that resemble those of a tropical parrot!
The project marks the start of this year’s Biennale die Architettura. Artist Julian Charrière says that his aim was to give a recognizable personality to birds that were routinely harassed; he hopes that pigeons will “be better regarded.”
