R.I.P. Malcolm Browne
Malcolm W. Browne, the Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter whose impressive career included covering the Vietnam War, died on Monday from complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was 81 years old.
The American photojournalist was best known for his award-winning image of a Vietnamese Buddhist monk who set himself ablaze in political protest in 1963.
The photo, which has become one of the most enduring photos of the Vietnam War, also prompted President Kennedy to reconsider his Vietnam policy.
