Cat Videos As Art
The renowned Walker Art Center tested the boundaries of legitimate art by holding its inaugural Cat Video Festival. An estimated 10,000 people (plus a few dogs for irony) turned out for a screening of videos in which cats behave badly, cutely, and/or mysteriously.
The LA Times reports that the people’s choice award went to a black-and-white French short, “Henri 2, Paw de Deux,” which starred an emotionally dark, black-and-white cat who struggles with life’s meaning.
