    Iranna’s Powerful Artwork

Indian and South East Asian Art sales are dominating the art world this week, and we have one of the most powerful works on artnet Auctions

Give Me Freedom (2007), by internationally acclaimed Contemporary Indian artist G.R. Iranna, is a powerful example of the artist’s notions of birth, death, life, and transcendence. Victory and the victimization of mankind are central themes in Iranna’s visual vocabulary. This is poignantly and powerfully illustrated in Give Me Freedom by the blind-folded young girl playing piano while a massive tiger sleeps at her feet, and by the Spanish bull-fighter defeating a charging bull.
