    The Velvet Underground Loses Banana

The Velvet Underground’s lawsuit over the rights to the famous Andy Warhol banana image, which was featured on the group’s debut album, has been dismissed by a New York judge. The band were told they do not have a valid copyright claim.

The Velvet Underground accused the Andy Warhol Foundation of violating its copyright when the foundation consented to the famed image being used without the band’s permission on a planned line of iPhone and iPad accessories.
