Yoko Ono Gives Prize to Pussy Riot Performance artist Yoko Ono has presented this year’s LennonOno grant for peace to the jailed Russian punk band Pussy Riot. “I thank Pussy Riot for standing firmly in their belief of freedom of expression and making all women of the world proud to be women,” said Yoko Ono at the ceremony, as she presented the award to Pyotr Verzilov, husband of one of the members of the group.  The presentation of the award coincides with the global commemoration of the International Day of Peace.
