Zwirner Reopens
David Zwirner, one of the New York galleries hit hardest by flooding from Hurricane Sandy, is opening again this Friday, November 9, with Diana Thater’s post-apocalyptic video installation, Chernobyl.
The six-channel video captures the Soviet town devastated and depopulated by the nuclear disaster in 1986.
Zwirner announced the show in a “Dear Friends” email, in which he also postponed his Luc Tuymans show, stating “Our other exhibitions planned for November, Luc Tuymans: The Summer is Over and Francis Alÿs: REEL-UNREEL, will now open in early January, once all our spaces have been fully renovated. We are excited to present these two remarkable bodies of work and both can be previewed here in the gallery.”
