    Remembering Magritte

“Art evokes the mystery without which the world would not exist” - René Magritte

The famed Surrealist painter was born on this day in 1898 in Belgium.

A major player in the Surrealist movement during the 1920s, Magritte frequently delved into mystical concepts and the disconnection between objects, people, and their meanings.

Pictured is one of his most recognized paintings, his 1964 work The Son Of Man, which was created as a self-portrait.
