    Hurricane Sandy

Remember that eery aerial image of New York half-lit due to electrical damages from Hurricane Sandy? That famous photograph, which made the cover of New York Magazine, was taken by photographer Iwan Baan. Though he was not a household name at the time, he is now being represented by Perry Rubenstein Gallery, and so you’ll probably be seeing much more of him!

The gallery also announced that Baan’s photograph will be sold in an edition of 10, with each photograph priced at US$100,000. All proceeds will go to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, which supports Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.
