Remembering Donald Judd
An influential sculptor, designer, furniture-maker, and art critic, Donald Judd was born on this day in 1928 in Missouri. After moving to New York, he studied philosophy and art history at Columbia University, which led to a life-long intellectual engagement with his art.
To gain complete control over his artworks’ surroundings, Judd purchased a house at 101 Spring Street, New York City, where he created furniture and art installations. After lengthy renovations, 101 Spring Street will open to the public on June 18, 2013!
