"A Coke is a Coke and no amount of money can get you a better Coke than the one the bum on the corner is drinking. All the Cokes are the same and all the Cokes are good. Liz Taylor knows it, the President knows it, the bum knows it, and you know it." — Andy Warhol
Andy Warhol’s painting of an oversized Coke bottle may sell for as much as $60 million at Christie’s highly anticipated Post-War and Contemporary Art sale in New York next month.
According to Bloomberg, the painting is being consigned by the infamous Mugrabi family, which owns the world’s largest collection of Warhols — around 800 works! The Mugrabis reportedly bought it from billionaire Si Newhouse in 1995.
