Held at the famous Pavilhão Ciccillo Matarazzo, a 15,000 square foot architectural icon designed by Oscar Niemeyer, the fair showcases the best selection of Brazilian and international Modern and Contemporary masters.

    TEFAF 2013

We are already looking forward this year’s TEFAF Maastricht, which is considered to be the world’s leading art and antiques fair. From March 14 through 25, 2013, 265 dealers from 19 countries will bring the best of their collections to Maastricht, in the southern part of the Netherlands. TEFAF’s strict vetting is conducted by 175 experts in 29 disciplines. The authenticity, quality, and condition of each artwork are carefully examined before the fair opens to the public.

The 2013 edition will host a loan exhibition of rarely seen drawings by Vincent van Gogh. The 15 drawings loaned by the Amsterdam Van Gogh Museum have been specially chosen to illustrate van Gogh’s development as an artist!

Take a look at some of the galleries that we’re looking forward to seeing at the fair.

    Armory Show

The Armory Show is in an especially celebratory mood this year, as 2013 marks the 100th anniversary of the groundbreaking fair! The first edition of the fair had changed the course of art history by introducing American audiences to Marcel Duchamp and other figures of the European avant garde.

    Lisson Gallery

One of the highlights of this year’s Armory Show is Lisson Gallery’s sculpture by Turner Prize winning artist Tony Cragg

In his early work, Cragg incorporated found materials, such as pieces of plastic, detritus from construction sites, and household wares, into his sculptures. In more recent works, Cragg has used traditional materials, such as bronze and wood, producing tall, sleek works with a rippled texture, conveying motion and animation.

An exciting new spring season kicks off this week with Armory Arts Week, which runs from March 5 to 10. This week is all about celebrating the city’s artistic communities and highlighting the art scene with different events each night; the city that never sleeps will be even more energized!

    Volta NY

We’re excited to be partnering with Volta NY 2013, a platform for challenging, often complementary, and sometimes competing ideas about Contemporary Art.

This year, Volta is debuting its new location, a gorgeous hardwood 19th-century loft building at 82 Mercer in SoHo. In a boutique-like setting, the fair is offering an opportunity for discoveries beyond those afforded by a traditional art fair by refocusing on artists through solo projects.

    Highlights from TEFAF

The European Fine Art Fair, renowned for its commitment to excellence, expertise, and elegance, will entice with a fabulous array of art, antiques, and design pieces this year.

More than 260 of the world’s finest art, antiques, and design dealers will bring the very best of the best to the 2013 edition of TEFAF Maastricht, which will take place from March 5 to 24, 2013.

We are particularly looking forward to masterpieces from the Van Gogh Museum, which are to be loaned to TEFAF Maastricht for a special exhibition during the fair! This is a delight, since the Van Gogh Museum rarely exhibits works from its collection of drawings by Vincent van Gogh, because they are so fragile.
