Lennon Exhibition in NY
Yoko Ono has lent some personal drawings by John Lennon to New York gallery 130 Prince St. for an exhibition that would have marked the singer’s 72nd birthday.
Most of the works are quick sketches and display Lennon’s experimentation with the technique of sumi ink drawing. Some of the drawings created on his honeymoon were famously confiscated by police in 1970, on account of their explicit content!
The Artwork of John Lennon will feature 100 drawings and sketches by the late Beatle. A US$2 donation is suggested, and all proceeds will benefit the charity Citymeals-on-Wheels.
The show runs from Friday, October 5 through Tuesday, October 9, John Lennon’s birthday.
